Coral reef ecology and bioacoustics

About me

In 2020 I completed my bachelor's in Biology: Marine Environmental Evaluator at the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce. I was part of the UPABi ("Universitarios Pro-Ambiente y Biodiversidad") student organization, where I participated in many beach cleaning efforts and education activities. The UPABi organization was one of the main reasons that awakened my passion for ocean conservation. After completing my bachelor's, I obtained my license as an Open Water Diver. In 2020, I started volunteering with "Sociedad Ambiente Marino," helping them with many of their coral reef restoration efforts. Shortly after, I officially joined the "Sociedad Ambiente Marino" at their coral reef ecology and conservation projects.

In August 2021, I joined Dr. Mercado Molina's conservation and population ecology lab, focusing my research interest on coral reef soundscapes and bioacoustics. In December 2023, I finished my master's degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Ana G. Mendez.
